Last Chance to See Title Sequence - BBC 2

GraphixAsset designed this globe and type layout to give an identity to the show.

We worked up from hand drawn sketches to preliminary models, and drawing inspiration from the many 17th and 18th century antique metal globes housed in the National Maritime Museum, created this bespoke modern take on Last Chance's "fragile" world.

Teachers TV Summer Hightlights Promo - Freeview and Sky

This 30 second promo was designed and implemented by us for Teachers TV, who wanted a tactile, light and fun treatment for the graphics to advertise and promote upcoming programmes on the Channel.

The promo features a cartoon shaded rendering of 3D objects, animated to fly past the camera, mixed in with clips from the actual programmes.

The Slave Dynasty

The Slavery Business: Slave Dynasty - BBC 2

This CGI reconstruction of Fonthill Abbey at night is part of a series of 6 visual effects shots showing the construction of this building against the backdrop of BBC2's historical drama.

GraphixAsset built the computer model from historical drawings, engravings and museum models over two weeks, and then realistically matched the building into the background plate, and added blue screened live action workers.

Satellite Bacardi Film - Web Viral Campaign

The Slavery Business: Breaking the Chains - BBC 2

GraphixAsset created a series of shots showing fire spreading across the Jamaican Sugar Plantations. The challenging part of these shots, with up to 40 layers in the comp, was making the blue screened crowd look believable to give the sense of scale and destruction the Director wanted to achieve.

We also created distance shots of the island, shots of the aftermath, and a photo-real model of Parliament, from paintings and House of Lords records, as it was before the 1834 fire.

Quest for Colombus - Discovery Channel

This shot, created in High Def, features a computer generated model of Colombus' ship growing out of the sea bed, filmed as live action and stablized. Particles of dust, sand and seaweed were then composited in over the top, with a z depth channel and matte shadow pass to "sink" the model into the scene.

GraphixAsset acted as a specialist sub-contractor in this case for Bigsquid; Engle Brothers were the Production Company.

Other TV Graphics -

Here are some examples of motion graphics for TV, which are designed to be simple and cost effective since they are required to be broadcast for only a short campaign.

The two examples opposite are from a set of 8 idents, produced to promote a Teachers TV Associate initiative.
